spring 2019
Spring 2019 collection explored the human body. I took inspiration from cells under the microscope, specifically layers of skin cells and the network of arteries and veins. I was drawn to the naturally occurring, organic patterns of the body.
The colors of the collection are based on images of skin cells. White is a prevalent color, representing the more clinical aspects of the collection, while the reds and blues offer pops of color. I created my own textile using embroidery stabilizer. As lines were stitched, the fabric washed away to reveal the left over threads. This technique left a texture that mimics the look of veins in the body.
