senior thesis 2020

My senior collection is inspired by bacteria growth. I was drawn to the intricate designs found in bacteria cultures.Through beading, I was able to mimic designs found in petri dishes. I played with shapes of traditional garments such as button downs and blazers and redesigning through draping.

I wanted to create an illusion as if the beads were growing out of the fabric onto the body. The color palette of the majority of the fabrics are neutral to add emphasis to the colorful, beaded designs.
