‘47
In Spring 2017, Pratt Institute’s sophomore class collaborated with the brand ‘47. ‘47 creates and sells t-shirts, hats, hoodies, and pants for sports fans. Using old dead stock, each student was to reinvent the existing garments to create one look.
My look was based off the sports ‘47 represents. The textile of the dress was made out of t-shirts and embroidery stabilizer to create a netting. This netting represents the netting seen in batting cages, tennis nets, basketball hoops, etc. The puffer jacket was created using t-shirts that are reminiscent of protective padding worn by athletes. I utilized the back straps from baseball caps for closures on the bra top, dress, and puffer jacket.
